A West African Food
Media Platform

Fresh additions crafted with quality and attention to detail.

The Lion Learns to Write

"Until the lion learns to write the hunt will always glorify the hunter"

We are building a West African food media platform.

Indeegenus explores, documents, and reinterprets the ingredients, traditions, and stories that shape West African cuisine.

Our work sits at the intersection of food, culture, and identity. Through content, education, and product, we are creating a modern archive of West African flavor—rooted in origin and made accessible to the diaspora and beyond.

The Premise

West African cuisine is one of the most influential yet under-documented food systems in the world. Its ingredients travel across continents. Its techniques shape entire regions. Yet its stories are often fragmented, misrepresented, or lost in translation.

Indeegenus exists to change that. We are building a body of work that treats West African food with the same rigor, curiosity, and respect afforded to the world’s most studied cuisines.

Our Point of View

  • West African food is foundational, not niche.
  • Ingredients matter more than recipes.
  • Flavor is built, not followed.
  • Tradition is a system, not a trend.
  • The diaspora deserves direct access to its ingredients.
  • Cultural context is as important as taste.

Who This Is For

We collaborate with media platforms, brands, culinary professionals, and institutions exploring food, culture, and identity—particularly those interested in deeper, more accurate representations of global cuisines.
